Who are we?
Strong Towns Richmond Hill is a grassroots group of Richmond Hill residents who want to make our community a better and safer place to live.
As a group, we are not members or supporters of a specific political party.
The Group’s goal is to introduce more people to the Strong Towns ideas. But we are not here just for talk.
Here’s our action plan:
1 Humbly observe where people in the community struggle.
2 Ask the question: What is the next smallest thing we can do right now to address that struggle?
3 Do that thing. Do it right now.
4 Repeat the above steps.
Our problem was not, and is not, a lack of growth. Our problem is 60 years of unproductive growth — growth that has buried us in financial liabilities. The American pattern of development does not create real wealth. It creates the illusion of wealth.
For close to two decades Richmond Hill has been my home. Strong Towns ideas helped me understand the reasons behind shortcomings in Richmond Hill. It also offered a solution: to be an engaged citizen, not a customer waiting to be helped.
I’ve just moved to Richmond Hill. But I like this place and want to see it become even better. Strong Towns’ ideas give me the inspiration and help me achieve my goal.
I’m sick of almost getting killed by bad infrastructure and car dependency.
