Today, residents gathered in Richmond Hill for a solemn ceremony to honour veterans and those who served. Despite snow and bitter cold, the parade from Yonge Street and Wright Street to the Cenotaph proceeded as planned, with the downtown area closed to traffic to ensure safety. A moment of silence was observed at 11 a.m., reflecting the city’s commitment to remembering sacrifice and service.
