Heritage Centre Unveils New Exhibits and Invites Guests for High Tea
RICHMOND HILL – History comes alive at the Richmond Hill Heritage Centre, housed in the beautifully restored 1840s Regency-style Amos Wright House. The centre, located in picturesque Amos Wright Park, is inviting the community to explore new featured exhibits and partake in their beloved seasonal programming, offering a perfect blend of culture, history, and charm.
Anne of Green Gables Takes Centre Stage
Currently captivating visitors is the “Anne in Costume: Designing a Literary Icon” exhibit. This stunning showcase is a tribute to iconic Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery, featuring costume designs inspired by her cherished novel, Anne of Green Gables.
The featured reproductions are of original designs by award-winning costume designer Martha Mann, on loan from the Toronto Public Library’s Special Collections in the Arts. The exhibit pairs these literary costumes with artifacts from the Richmond Hill Artifact Collection, demonstrating how storytelling, design, and heritage converge to shape Canada’s cultural memory.
Indulge in Afternoon Tea
A perennial favourite, the Heritage Centre’s Afternoon Teas are once again on the menu. Visitors can indulge in the timeless Traditional Afternoon Teas as well as unique offerings specifically lined up for the current season.

Beyond the featured exhibition, guests can explore the centre’s galleries, which showcase the rich heritage of Richmond Hill with a collection of historically significant artifacts dating from the early 19th century to the present.
