Richmond Hill residents can learn more โ and comment โ on zoning changes that shape what can be built across the city.

Richmond Hill residents will have two upcoming chances to learn more about proposed changes to the cityโs Comprehensive Zoning By-law, the rulebook that helps determine what can be built, where it can be built, and under what conditions.
The City is holding an in-person open house on Thursday, June 11, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the McConaghy Centre, 10100 Yonge Street. A formal Council Public Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at 225 East Beaver Creek Road.
The update is tied to Richmond Hillโs broader Official Plan work and is meant to bring the zoning by-law into line with the cityโs long-term growth policies. Zoning rules can affect housing types, building heights, setbacks, parking requirements, business uses, and how land is used in different parts of the city.
For residents, the meetings are a chance to understand how citywide planning decisions may eventually affect neighbourhoods, main streets, transit areas, employment lands, and future development applications.
Residents can attend the open house, speak at the Council Public Meeting, or submit written comments to the City Clerk. Those wishing to make an electronic delegation for the June 23 meeting must register in advance by noon on the day of the meeting.
