Strong Richmond Hill is joining the open social web, giving readers another way to follow our stories and join the conversation without depending entirely on Facebook, Instagram, X or any single social media platform. And if you already use Threads, getting connected takes only a few steps.
Social media is useful for reaching people, but we don’t think a community publication should have to depend entirely on somebody else’s platform, algorithm or rules to reach its readers.
That’s why we’ve launched a new Strong Richmond Hill social feed at:
The idea is simple: StrongRH.ca remains our home, but the people who follow us shouldn’t all have to gather on the same social network.
Our new feed is part of the Fediverse, a growing network that allows independent websites and social platforms to communicate with each other.
That sounds technical. Using it doesn’t have to be.
If you already have Instagram and Threads, you can follow Strong Richmond Hill’s new feed right from Threads. No new social network to learn, and no Mastodon account required.

1. Activate Threads
If you haven’t already, install or open Threads and activate your profile using your Instagram account.
2. Turn on Fediverse sharing
In Threads, open your Menu, then go to:
Settings→ More Settings → Fediverse sharing
Turn it on.
