Jewelry Heist in Richmond Hill

Multiple suspects sought after smash-and-grab jewelry store robbery in Richmond Hill

By Staff Report

Police are searching for at least three suspects following a daytime smash-and-grab robbery at a jewelry store in Richmond Hill.

According to York Regional Police, the incident occurred on Friday, March 20, at approximately 5:39 p.m., in the area of Yonge Street and Carrville Road.

Investigators say three masked suspects entered the store armed with hammers, smashed display cases and made off with a quantity of jewelry before fleeing the scene.

The Hold-Up Unit is leading the investigation and is appealing to the public for information as officers work to identify and locate those responsible.

The robbery is the latest in a string of violent commercial incidents across York Region in recent days. In a separate case in Markham, police are also seeking suspects after an armed robbery inside a business where victims were threatened and forced into a room.

Meanwhile, investigators have made progress in other serious cases, including the arrest of a second suspect in connection with a homicide in Vaughan earlier this year.

Police are urging anyone with information about the Richmond Hill robbery, including surveillance footage or dashcam video from the area at the time, to contact investigators.
