RICHMOND HILL – York Regional Police say a 17-year-old girl reported missing earlier this week has been found safe.

Shu Tong was last seen on Monday, October 27, around 9 a.m. near Yorkland Street and Brookwood Drive in Richmond Hill. Police had set up a Command Post at 12125 Yonge Street and conducted an extensive search in the area.

In an update Tuesday, officers confirmed that Shu has been located and is safe. Police thanked the public and local residents for their assistance and cooperation during the search.

Authorities have not released further details, citing the privacy of the individual and her family.
