Holiday Gathering to Mark STRH’s First Year

RICHMOND HILL — Strong Towns Richmond Hill is capping off its first full year with a festive — and firmly RSVP-controlled — holiday gathering on Sunday, December 14 at noon, inviting members and guests to celebrate a year of grassroots urbanism, local advocacy, and community-building.

The event, which will be held at FlexSpace Inc. on Yonge Street, is being billed as both a cheerful seasonal social and a moment of reflection for the rapidly growing local chapter. Light food, drinks, and a holiday game are on the agenda, along with a look back at the group’s first year and an open discussion on activism priorities heading into 2026.

Organizers say anyone wishing to attend — including guests brought by members — must RSVP in advance. The group stresses that planning for space and refreshments hinges entirely on confirmed numbers. “RSVP is mandatory for everyone,” the announcement reads, underscoring the point with multiple links and reminders.

While the gathering is free for members and their guests, the group is encouraging optional potluck-style contributions. Attendees are welcome to bring food to share, though organizers note it’s completely voluntary.

Strong Towns Richmond Hill, which launched last year, has spent its first twelve months pushing conversations about walkability, housing, transportation, and sustainable local development. Sunday’s meeting is expected to blend celebration with strategy as the group discusses how to influence civic change in the coming year.

Event Details:
Date: Sunday, December 14
Time: 12:00 PM
Location: FlexSpace Inc., 10225 Yonge St., Unit R
Cost: Free for members and their guests (RSVP required: /event/xmas2025/)

The group says it looks forward to closing out the year with its supporters — but only those who secure their spot in advance.
