Skill Share Social Club
Richmond Hill residents eager to learn, teach, and connect with others have something exciting to look forward to this summer. A new grassroots initiative, Skill Share Social Club, is launching its first event on June 28th at the Richmond Green Public Library.
Founded by Eduardo Morales and Melissa from the nonprofit organization Life.School.House, the Skill Share Social Club is a small, community-driven group focused on exchanging knowledge and skills among members. Operating out of Richmond Hill, Ontario, the group is built on the idea that “everyone’s a teacher”—anyone who wishes to share their skills or hobbies will have the opportunity to lead a session, although participation as a teacher is completely optional.
The club functions as an event-based program, with each session dedicated to a topic chosen collectively by members. Subjects can range widely, depending on the interests and expertise of the group—anything from learning new languages to woodworking, cooking, or basic home repair.
More than just a space for learning, the Skill Share Social Club aims to build mutual aid networks and foster deeper connections within the community. By collaborating with other local organizations, the group hopes to expand its programming and impact in the months ahead.
Skill Share Social Club operates under the umbrella of Life.School.House, a nonprofit dedicated to community-based learning. The initiative represents a growing movement of people who see community education as a powerful way to strengthen social bonds and local resilience.
Those interested in joining or teaching a future session are encouraged to attend the first event and get involved. It’s learning, connection, and community—all under one roof.
